Nicholas Pevzner

is an urban designer, landscape architect and educator. His current research focuses on the public and civic potential of infrastructure, and on the integration of urban ecological systems and their metrics into design methodology.

Nicholas Pevzner is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design, where he teaches core studios in urban design and elective studios on the territorial landscape potential of energy infrastructure, as well as co-teaching a course on Urban Ecology. He is also Co-Editor of Scenario Journal

Prior to joining the UPenn faculty, he was a designer at the landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates in New York. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Cooper Union and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Stephanie Carlisle

is an environmental researcher, designer, and educator whose work investigates topics related to the interaction between the constructed and natural environment, including urban ecology, life cycle analysis and climate change. Combining a background in environmental science and architectural design, Stephanie serves as a bridge between research and practice, bringing data-driven analysis to complex architectural problems.

Stephanie is a Senior Researcher at the Carbon Leadership Forum, at the University of Washington where she develops open-access embodied carbon and LCA data, tools, and methods to support the building sector in radically decarbonizing construction.

Stephanie is also a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, where she teaches courses on Embodied Carbon, Climate Change, and Urban Ecology. She is a Co-Editor of Scenario Journal and serves on the Steering Committee for US Architects Declare.

She holds a Masters in Architecture from Yale School of Architecture, a Masters in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, and a Bachelors in Religion from Wesleyan University.
